Your culinary experience in Madrid's charming Barrio de las Letras.
We'll visit authentic and traditional tapas bars, where you'll sample typical Madrid specialties in a cozy atmosphere and learn what makes a real tapa. I'll be happy to give you insider tips for the rest of your stay and ensure this evening is a special experience.
We'd be happy to coordinate orders together, or I could surprise you with a selection of delicious, typically Spanish dishes. Just bring your appetite for trying new things – Spanish cuisine has so much more to offer than just calamari and patatas bravas!
Whether for lunch or dinner, our tour begins in the lively Plaza de Santa Ana, in the heart of the charming literary quarter. The meeting point is directly in front of the statue of the writer Calderón de la Barca.
From there, we'll start a short walk to selected tapas bars and taverns, where you'll get a first impression of Madrid's history and culture.
At the start of the tour, I'll collect the amount for food and drinks. My recommendation is €30 per person, so you can enjoy about three to four drinks and a selection of high-quality tapas. If you'd like to spend less, that's of course no problem.

The Barrio de las Letras:
Where our poets and thinkers held sway
Immerse yourself in the charming Barrio de las Letras, the "literary quarter" of Madrid!
Here, where golden letters quoting famous Spanish writers such as Cervantes and Lope de Vega are engraved into the pavement, the city's literary soul pulsates.
Imagine how these famous minds once strolled through the same streets, discussed things in the same taverns, and created their unforgettable works.
Even today, you can still feel this historic atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful old buildings with their wrought-iron balconies and lovingly restored facades.
The Barrio de las Letras is more than just history. It's a vibrant neighborhood full of cozy tapas bars where you can enjoy authentic Spanish specialties, small, quirky shops that invite you to browse, and inviting squares like the Plaza de Santa Ana, where you can linger.
Stroll through Calle Huertas, the lifeline of the district, discover hidden squares and enjoy the unique atmosphere where literary heritage and modern Madrid life blend beautifully.
A visit to the Barrio de las Letras is like a journey into the golden era of Spanish literature, combined with the vibrant flair of modern-day Madrid – a must for every visitor to the city!
