The Barrio de las Letras, also known as the Quarter of the Muses or the Literary Quarter, is a particularly charming corner of Madrid and by far my personal favorite. A stroll through its cobbled streets transports you to the golden age of Spanish literature, as great figures such as Cervantes, Lope de Vega, and Quevedo lived and wrote here.

A district with literary heritage:

The streets of Huertas retain this historic flair, many of them adorned with literary quotations embedded in the ground. It's a place where the history of Spanish literature comes alive at every corner.

What will excite you about the Barrio de las Letras?

  • The Plaza de Santa Ana: A lively square surrounded by historic cafés and theaters - also our meeting point for tapas tours !
